Rendering the observable worlds is a tie between the disciplines of art and science. Both use the act of viewing and manually recording as a means to gain knowledge. To explore this mechanisms of interpreting and recording data I designed a devise using a minimal set of components. This physical construction of a machine draws attention to the process of making as well as the images made.
The system has the capability to create representation images, but require the partnership of the patient hand. Initially the cams disks that drive the image are placed at arbitrary rotations on the machine. Through a process of observation and carful adjustment the critical hand can refine the drawing into a recognizable image. They are mechanical drawings crafted by hand.
